Dale and I on our way to Mount Kailash. It was
extremely windy and dry in our travels there...
The expert jeep-driving team would overhaul the
engines every night at camp. They'd literally take the
whole engine apart and put it all back together again
every night! Thick white dust everywhere... we wore
masks to breathe as we drove through hours and hours
of endless mountains (like what you see here). Up to
17,000 feet in altitude (with the Mount Kailash Droma
pass at 18,700 ft), and at times I was sure I wouldn't
make it home... Breathing and sleeping were difficult
because of the lack of oxygen at such high altitude!
