Depart US
November 1
Arrive in Delhi. Overnight in 5-star hotel.
November 2
Depart to Rishikesh after breakfast. Ashram orientation, unpack, and rest. Evening walk on the Ganga and guided relaxation/meditation.
November 3
"Unkink Yourself" morning yoga with Dr. Buegel. Brief guided meditation. Morning trip to Rishikesh. Good time to get traditional India clothes made (should you wish). Explore Rishikesh town. Lunch at ashram. Afternoon trip to Vasistha Goofa cave, where the famous saint Vasistha meditated on the banks of the Ganga. The cave has an incredible energy and is perfect for meditation. Return to ashram for chai and dinner. Evening lecture on yoga/meditation and kirtan.
November 4

Morning guided yoga and meditation. Trip to Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula with a walk across their legendary rope bridges. Visit Gandhi emporium. Return to ashram for lunch. Afternoon walk to Virbadra Temple. Dinner at ashram. Kirtan at local temple next to ashram.

November 5

Morning yoga and guided meditation. Day trip for Gurbani at Paonta Sahab (kirtan at Paonta Sahab, Sikh style!). This site is believed to have been the holy Guru Gobind Singh's abode for over 4 years, where he penned the 'Dasam Granth', the holy book of Sikhism. This day is Guru Nanak Jayanti, the celebration of the birth anniversary (lunar linked) of the Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh philosophy and religion.Guru Nanak worked to establish an equality among of all humanity. Return for dinner at the ashram. Evening yoga/meditation lecture and workshop.

November 6
Morning yoga and guided meditation. Day trip to Anandamayi Ma's ashram. Anandamayi Ma (read bio, article) was one of India's most legendary sages, and spent time with Yogananda, Swami Rama, and many of the other yoga sages of India. We'll have lunch in Dehra Dun at Kumar's restaurant. Afternoon to explore Dehra Dun. Return to ashram for dinner. Evening kirtan.
November 7
Morning yoga and guided meditation. Day trip to Chandrabadani with packed lunches from ashram. Return to ashram for dinner. Evening kirtan and rest.
November 8
Morning yoga and guided meditation. After breakfast free time. Lunch at ashram. Afternoon in Haridwar. Packed ashram dinner in Haridwar. Experience aarti on Ganga in Haridwar. Return to ashram at night.
November 9
Morning yoga and guided meditation. Day trip to Dev Prayag. Experience the confluence of the two sacred rivers that come down from the mountains and join to create the Ganga. It's a beautiful site, nestled in the mountains that surround, and the waters are swift here. You'll see the chains for people to hold onto if they want to dip themselves in the waters. Powerful confluence! Return to the ashram for evening meal and rest.
November 10
Special yoga/meditation conference in Jolly Grant to commemorate the mahasamadhi (leaving the body) of Swami Rama. Experience the incredible teachings from Swamiji's Himalayan Tradition of yoga, from the sadhus (holy people), swami's (renunciates) and students, who are returning to India from all over the world for this commemorative 10th anniversary conference. Evening kirtan with Ragani and Tiwari (All-India Radio, etc.)
November 11

Day two of the conference in Jolly Grant. Workshops swami's and yoga practitioners in the powerful techniques in stress reduction, sleepless sleeping, yoga and meditation. Teachings from the ancient wisdom of yoga and meditation. Evening Indian cultural program.

November 12

Large program at the ashram, a continuation of the conference in Jolly Grant, with many outside swamis coming for the event. This is the real thing! And the bonus is-- we've already reserved our places at the ashram, so we'll be right in the heart of it all! In the morning, Swami Veda will be doing traditional Hindu rituals, Purna Ahuti ("full offering") and Shradhanjali ("prayerful offering to the departed"), on the grounds of the ashram. Lots of big swamis will be attending this function. It will be followed by a Bhandara ("feeding the masses"). We'll conclude the evening kirtan with a glorious kirtan by Vaiyasaki Das and his troup of Indian musicians. He will be doing sacred chants from India, including a Bengali chant for the departed saints and sages. Beautiful! It will be a great day of events!


November 13
Final day of the commemorative program in Jolly Grant. Music event in the evening is NOW CONFIRMED to be with Anup Jalota (WOW! This is a real treat-- I've been listening to his music since the 1980's too!). Plenty of ongoing yoga and meditation classes. Good day to get rejuvenated at the Ayurvedic clinic for the return trip to the US.
November 14
Depart for Delhi after breakfast. Late lunch at Cheetal Grand. Check into 5-star Delhi hotel and enjoy and evening meal together.

November 15
Free day for lots of great India shopping! We'll provide transportation from the hotel to the government shops, where you can find incredible Indian items, and all for great prices (and at this giant museum-like location, you don't have to haggle for prices either!). Return to hotel by mid-afternoon to shower and rest, and we'll have our final bon voyage evening meal together. Head to the airport after dinner.
November 16
Depart for US very early in the morning. Arrive in US the same day (due to time zone differences)!
