Be Part of the Kirtan Movement!

Kirtan is one of the fastest-growing forms of sacred music in the world and Milwaukee, Wisconsin is home
to the largest independent and ongoing kirtan scene
in the US! Milwaukee is also the world headquarters of The International Kirtan Foundation, an organization created to support the growth of this joyous music which offers an incredible means for greater inner peace and world healing.

One of the most exciting aspects of the burgeoning kirtan scene both locally and internationally is its grassroots growth. Primarily by word of mouth, the Milwaukee event has evolved from 40 people in attendance three years ago… to 250-300 people participating each month! Kirtan’s appeal is that
it’s accessible, fun, blissful and sacred all at the
same time.

We invite you to play a vital role in building the kirtan scene on the local, national and international level.
You can help in the following ways:

International Kirtan Foundation projects include the creation of the Kirtan Connection, a comprehensive website that links kirtan around the globe to foster understanding of and participation in kirtan. The
Kirtan Connection site will list kirtan events in cities across America and the world, providing a one-stop information resource for those seeking opportunities
to enjoy the music. Such listings will also provide critical marketing support to all the grassroots musicians and bands out there that do not have the capability of doing it on their own. These listings will be free of
charge to all participants! :)

PLEASE NOTE: The International Kirtan Foundation was officially incorporated as of January 2005. We are currently applying for non-profit status, and we anticipate that all donations made to IKF at this time (after January 2005) will be tax deductible. We are anticipating completion of the non-profit application and status by the end of 2005.
